Provincetown stands out with year-round access for leashed dogs and generous off-leash hours each morning and evening.
Wellfleet, Truro, and Eastham all permit dogs on most beaches, though access may be limited during lifeguard hours or nesting bird season.
In Chatham and Orleans, visit early or late—pets are allowed only during designated hours.

A manatee was spotted swimming in a Cape Cod inlet on July 26, almost 10 years after its last sighting in the area. The large mammal was seen by Stevie Petrucci near Popponesset Bay in Mashpee. This was a rare sighting as manatees prefer warm waters above 68 degrees. This is the first time Stevie Petrucci and his father, Stephen, had seen a manatee in the 24 years they had been living on the Cape. Some Florida manatees travel up the coast during warm months, with a few even reaching Massachusetts. The last confirmed manatee sighting in Cape Cod was in September 2016. |
